Sheri Smith's Love Story August 8th, 2010

My name is Sheri, and I am primarily a stay-at-home mom. However, I have a deep passion for God and for missions. Because I am now a mother, I don’t have the freedom to just get up and go on a missions trip. But I have been praying for ways to still support those who have that freedom. My first mission is primarily to take care of my daughter. Second, I am a Tastefully Simple Independent Consultant (www.tastefullysimple.com). I joined the business because I enjoyed the products and wanted the extra cash. But I was not having any success and I was discouraged. So I asked God what I should do about it, and He made it clear to me that He provided me with this business opportunity to be able to have a tangible way to further God’s Love Story to all people. At first I didn’t understand how…then it became clear to me. I was to donate a portion of my profits to missions, churches and others in need. Then I asked God, “How much?” At first I thought 30%, but then I felt God putting it on my heart to donate 50% of my profits from each party. i am sure my team members will think I am crazy, but it is SO worth it. I have decided to give this business to God. The third thing I have taken up is to volunteer with my local council on aging to deliver food to those in need through the “Meals On Wheels” program. Please pray for me as I take on each of these tasks that the focus would always remain on God and not become about me.
