Morgan Emerson's Love Story September 20th, 2010
I went to the Joyce Meyer Conference and on my way home friday night i was this woman at the park. she looked homeless. she was in a wheelchair, her leg cut off at the calf and had a bag over it. and only 1/2 her face was as normal. i asked my mom for cash and in the middle of the street (stopped my traffic) i jumped out and chased after this woman only able to give her the $2 we had on our beings at that time. the next day i did everything i could to get a free ticket to give to her so she could see Joyce Meyer! we finally got a ticket from the Dream Center (May God Bless their hearts so very much) and we went searching for her.. we searched for about an hour with no luck and went by there in the morning on our way back to the conference, only to find she wasnt at the park.. with sad faces my mom and i prayed for her and went on our way to the conference. we gave the ticket back to the Dream Center volunteers and picked up some info for her because we wanted to find her! and we knew we would someday see her. so the conference ended and we headed home, stopping by the park one last time to see if she was just by chance there, AND SHE WAS!! i yelled out to pull over, i saw the woman. my mom stopped, we grabbed a cold water bottle that we hadnt opened from lunch and the info from the Dream Center. we walked over to her with big smiles on our faces and introduced ourselves, we told her how we got a free ticket for her to go to the Joyce Meyer’s Women Conference.. her smile was as big as it could have gotten. my mom asked her if she was hungry, she just shook her head.. mom asked if she had eaten at all today, she replied no and mom went and got her a cheeseburger loaded with everything she wanted and fries to go on the side with a vanilla shake. i stayed with Mammy, that is her name, Mammy
and we talked, she asked a couple of people for some spare change and most ignored her! one woman walked up to her the whole 15 minutes i was there and gave her a dollar. Mammy told ME to keep my faith in the Lord. SHE told ME. How this woman keeps so high faith i cannot comprehend but she had blessed me. this story may seem like i am bragging on myself or my mom, but really Mammy has blessed me in a way no other person could ever had blessed me. she told me the reason she has 1/2 a face is because she got shot. but she kept telling me she is only alive today by the grace of God. and she is going to do what God wants her to do – well her testimony to the world!
i pray i will be able to go back soon. she told me she used to like to play cards, maybe ill bring some with me!
i hope she is safe! please pray for her and continue to pray for her! a woman i have only talked to for a few minutes has grasped my heart in such an amazing way! i love her! and i know God Almighty does too
