Barb's Love Story December 30th, 2010
This is a twist on an idea I borrowed from my sister-in-law. Before we open gifts at Christmas time, I pass out “thank you” cards and envelopes to the family members. The note cards are used for our expressions of gratitude, our gifts to the One from whom all blessings come. On the one side of the note we each write what we’re grateful for the previous year. On the other side we write a personal note – goals for the coming year, spiritual or otherwise. (Individuals who don’t follow Christ would be able to participate). We go around the room, and read our notes of gratitude. (We don’t share the personal notes on the other side -leaving that to the individual or between each person and God). Then we each seal our card in an envelope, put our names/year on the outside, and place them on the Christmas tree. I’m not sure what we’ll do with them, but I have almost ten years of sealed envelopes.
