JulieWGrant's Love Story December 31st, 2010

Our Church had us take a shoe box which we called a glove box and fill it with things that a homeless person might be able to use…We were to wrap it and then ask God to show us who to give it to. One day near Christmas I was driving o the freeway and God said to me “See those people in the park? you need to get off ‘cuz your gonna give them those boxes. I got off of the freeway and parked and met two men. one was in a wheelchair with one leg, Pete, and the other guy was named Chaz. They were happy to get these boxes and needed a ham dinner for Christmas. Someone had promised to bring them a turkey for Thanksgiving and not shown up. So I promised to bring Pete a ham dinner. On the 27th My husband and I brought Pete a bag full of things for a small feast. He had also asked for 4 batteries for his little radio, and was most happy for them. He started crying by our gifts and of course made me cry, I felt like we’d answered the needs of one of the many “least of these” that God asks us to look after! I plan on checking on Pete monthly. My hubby and I are both unemployed right now, but I felt so rich on the 27th. God is sooo Good!
